Lightning response to handle Storm Doris insurance claims
As Storm Doris wreaked havoc across Lancashire, we responded like lightning to help our customers whose properties were damaged as a result of the extreme weather.
One such customer was Stephanie Valentine whose Bolton home took a battering from a fallen tree.
On Thursday 23 February Ms Valentine was alerted by neighbours that a 20 foot tall tree had fallen onto the roof of her house due to the high winds of Storm Doris. As she made her way home around 1.30pm, Ms Valentine called us, as her insurance broker.
Responding at speeds as fast as the winds themselves our Account Executive Leisha Johnston immediately arranged for a tree surgeon to visit the property to remove the fallen tree so that a roofer could make the roof safe and watertight. In less than four hours, a loss adjuster had been appointed to assess the damage and it wasn’t long before the Valentine family could enter their home safely.
Stephanie Valentine said, “The service received from Financial Affairs, yet again I hasten to add, has been excellent. From the offset and the initial phone call to Leisha, the response was prompt to get the tree removed, and to arrange for the builders and loss adjuster to attend was instant. As per usual, the after service communication has been constant and definitely makes all the upset a littler easier to contend with.”
The insurance company urgently arranged for builders to visit the property and provide repair estimates for the removal of damaged tiles, guttering and fascia boards. Work will soon commence following authorisation of the quotes from the insurance company.
Our Managing Director Laurence O’Connor commented, “We pride ourselves on our personal approach and how quickly we spring into action when it matters most. We had a number of customers – both domestic and commercial – who were affected by Storm Doris, which meant for a very busy week. It gave us the opportunity to prove we are as good as we say we are!”
