It’s a Summer Social for Financial Affairs!
It’s so important to keep working together as a team and keep staff morale as high as it can be, particularly in these challenging times. Following government guidelines, Financial Affairs staff met up in the picturesque village of Grassington last week to enjoy some well-earned time out of work and socialise together.
At Financial Affairs we have always prided ourselves on being a family-run and family-built business. Those family values are embodied in our employees, many of whom brought their own families along to the event.
We encourage regular social events for team building, however due to the recent lockdown we have been restricted to virtual meetings. We were delighted to be able to get some fresh air and socialise safely in person, and not just virtually or on the phone.
Our chosen activities were 3 walks of different lengths with accompanying challenges. We were grateful for sunny weather on a fine Wednesday morning in the heart of lovely Grassington and began with bacon sandwiches and croissants courtesy of Financial Services Manager Alan Walsh, to set us up nicely for the day.
We then split into three groups with separate routes to walk and tasks to complete. With a target time of 3 o’clock for their return, the groups enjoyed some beautiful views over the Yorkshire Dales as well as some playtime for the younger walkers – though looking at the pictures we can see the adults had their fair share of fun!
All groups arrived back in time for the delicious picnic, supplied by local delicatessen Relish, with sandwiches, sausage rolls and beautiful brownies all wolfed down by the team. A game of “Higher or Lower”, linked to the tasks throughout the day, saw the team going home with some edible goodies – some of which apparently didn’t make it home!
All in all, a great day was enjoyed by the team, undeterred by the swift change from sunglasses to anorak weather. Everyone left with full bellies, and an agreement to make the Grassington walk an annual event!
